Dear Ms. Woolf,

Thank you for taking the time to discuss the editorial position at Franklin Publishing with me. After meeting with you and observing the company's operations, I am further convinced that my background and skills coincide well with your needs.

I really appreciate that you took so much time to acquaint me with the company, as well as our discussion of the "Harry Potter" craze, and how it has affected the publishing industry. I enjoyed my visit and I feel I could learn a great deal from you.

I look forward, Ms. Woolf, to hearing from you concerning your hiring decision. Again, thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

John Oakley

Note the reference to a specific topic of discussion outside of the scope of the interview. Your "Thank You" note should trigger a memory in the mind of your interviewer, as well as continue selling yourself after the interview has been concluded. Not only do the contents of the letter sell you, but the letter itself shows consideration, the ability to work well with others, gratitude, and attention to detail.
