There are many benefits to doing an internship.

• Experience - Work experience outside college is one of the most important factors employers will look at when interviewing college students for future positions. In a recent National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) of 212 employers, full-time jobs were offered to 58% of the students who had done internships with their organizations, on average.

  In a MonsterTRAK survey involving 11,000 students, 59% said they'd completed at least one internship.

  In an Experience.com survey of 6,500 students, 67% said they'd completed at least one internship.

• Money - Some internships do pay, and some pay really really well. You can search the internship database for paying internships.
• Credit - Some internships require college credit. See what is involved in getting credit.
