Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting and visit to The Weitz Funds
Carleton has secured, through Bill Buffett ’55, admission for up to 15 students to attend the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting on Saturday, May 2, 2009, in Omaha, Nebraska. Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, is highly regarded and recognized for his investing insights and expertise. Subsequently, this meeting has become a highly anticipated event by many professionals in numerous industry sectors. We will also be visiting the offices of The Weitz Funds, a firm established by Wally Weitz ’70, P ’96, ’99, ’02, Carleton Board of Trustees Member. Our visit will include a presentation about the firm led by analysts, a tour, and a question and answer session.
Application process and participation requirements:
A total of 15 Carleton students (any class year eligible) will be selected to attend the 2009 Berkshire Hathaway Annual Shareholders Meeting on Saturday, May 2, 2009 in Omaha, NE. To apply, submit a cover letter and resume outlining your interest in participating in this event. In particular, address your experience and career goals relating to the business fields. Also include a question that you would like to ask Berkshire Hathaway officers at a shareholders meeting.
Application deadline is Monday, April 13, 2009. Submit application materials via the Tunnel.

Logistics
A charter bus will depart campus for Omaha at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2009, returning to Northfield on Sunday, May 3 at approximately 5:00 p.m. The college will cover travel, lodging and some meal expenses.
