Being clear about your own unique interests and skills is one of the first steps in good career decision-making. If you're having problems choosing a major or making a decision about what you want to do after you graduate, the Career Center offers many options to help ease the burden. Here are some options!

Schedule an appointment

We highly recommend meeting with a staff member who can help you clarify your goals and give you more tools to help you make your own decision. To schedule a meeting, call the Career Center at x4293. Leave a voicemail if we are not there and we will get back to you. Or stop by the Career Center, or e-mail sbovbjer@carleton.edu.

Attend a workshop

We offer numerous workshops focusing on decision-making, from major choice to summer jobs, and what your options might mean to you. You may visit Current Events to learn when the next workshop is available.

Take the MBTI or CISS

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) can help clarify your unique skills and the way you make decisions. Simply email Deb Olien at dolien@carleton.edu or make an appointment with a Career Counselor to request the MBTI assessment and complete it in your own time. Then attend the next scheduled workshop to receive your results. If the workshop times do not accommodate your schedule, give us a call to schedule an appointment with a Career Counselor to go over your results. Or try the Campbell Interest & Skill Survey (CISS) and learn how you can apply the skills and interests you already have to a career choice! It's just an hour out of your time.
