Etiquette

First impressions- The alum's initial perception of you will influence the amount of help you receive. Be polite, friendly, and conscious of his busy schedule.

Respect- Although this person is a Carl, she is also an established professional. Treat her with deference, but do not be overly formal.

Awknowledgement of schedule- Keep in mind this person is taking extra, nonrequired time to assist and advise you. Be patient and thank her for her time.

Thank you notes- Continue to show your appreciation with a thank you note.
