The Northfield Arts and Culture Commission is looking for a student to help perform a study examining the economic impacts of the arts community on Northfield.

The Rice County Solid Waste department, which handles recycling and trash services in Northfield and around the county, is looking for someone to translate their new information packets into Spanish..

Carleton is hosting a VISTA coordinator to build and expand on science and higher education access programs that work with local middle school and high school youth who might otherwise face challenges in going to college. Click through for more information about the position and how to apply.

We are looking for Carleton students to act as Camp Sol counselors for the summer of 2010. Camps will run a total of ten weeks from June 21 to August 26, and students must be able to commit five afternoons per week. Debate for democracy! Students are invited to submit legislative letters that address current public policy issues to Project Pericles' Debating for Democracy (D4D) 2010 National Conference.

Census Director Robert Groves, who called Carleton's Latin American Poster Contest a "great way to get the word out about the census," officially kicked off the Census count today in a remote Alaskan village.

To encourage participation in this year's Census, Academic Civic Engagement is collaborating with the Art Gallery's Latin American Posters Exhibit in sponsoring a Census poster competition inspired by the rich tradition of this form of visual communication.

This Winter, Carleton is running a trial program providing students doing community-based work study or working on Academic Civic Engagement projects free taxi vouchers within Northfield for Taxi First Choice.

Carleton student Mahal Burr has been working with non-profit org Children's Culture Connection to facilitate a letter writing program between Iraqi children and students in the Cannon Valley Public Schools. A book about the correspondence entitled Dear Friend: U.S./Iraqi Kids Connect is being published and Burr will be signing copies at an event tomorrow.
