We are looking for Carleton students to act as Camp Sol counselors for the summer of 2010. Camps will run a total of ten weeks from June 21 to August 26, and students must be able to commit five afternoons per week. To encourage participation in this year's Census, Academic Civic Engagement is collaborating with the Art Gallery's Latin American Posters Exhibit in sponsoring a Census poster competition inspired by the rich tradition of this form of visual communication.

Carleton student Mahal Burr has been working with non-profit org Children's Culture Connection to facilitate a letter writing program between Iraqi children and students in the Cannon Valley Public Schools. A book about the correspondence entitled Dear Friend: U.S./Iraqi Kids Connect is being published and Burr will be signing copies at an event tomorrow.
