Beth Bennett ’07 (Fair Oaks, California) is co-president of the Student Organization for the Protection of the Environment, a group determined to bringing waste composting to the Carleton dining halls. "College is one of the times when we have the ability to change our surroundings," Bennet says. "Why wouldn’t students take advantage of that?"
Gifts to the Annual Fund: $30 Million
Gifts to the annual fund, including the Alumni Annual Fund, the Carleton Parents Fund, and the Carleton Friends Fund, provide critical support for the ongoing needs of the College during the campaign. These gifts directly affect the daily lives of students and faculty members by providing resources for financial aid, faculty salaries and development, off-campus trips, field research, lectureships, and special seminars. Annual fund dollars provide the essential resources to move ahead with some of Carleton’s ambitious plans even as capital and endowment funds are being raised.
Gifts to the annual fund are one way that everyone can contribute to the success of Breaking Barriers, Creating Connections: The Campaign for Carleton.
