Giving to Carleton

Why Support Carleton?

"Without the generous support of donors, Carleton would continue to exist as a college, but it would not be Carleton." — Clem Shearer, former dean for budget and planning, geology professor, 1989-1998

Carleton needs your support. In these challenging economic times, private support of Carleton must continue to grow in order to ensure the standard of excellence we have maintained since 1866.

Our work is expensive

In order to attract the best students, Carleton must continue to offer a rigorous program led by a talented and nationally ranked faculty.

Keeping up with a changing world is expensive

Our global world is changing at a rapid pace, with daily innovations in technology, science, the arts, communications, and many other fields. To provide the best education available, we must keep our curriculum, facilities, equipment, and other educational resources up-to-date.

Quality is expensive

Carleton graduates are exceptional people with a high level of intellectual curiosity and a strong commitment to engagement in the world. There is no shortcut to educational quality at Carleton. It is achieved by attracting the best students, faculty, and staff members, and maintaining the school's high standards of scholarship and academic performance.
