Carleton's Stewardship Office is responsible for the comprehensive, consistent, and appropriate recognition and stewardship of your gifts to the College. We abide by the standards described in the Donor Bill of Rights, and we make sure that information about your gift is appropriately reported, and, if desired, publicly recognized.

Gift Acknowledgments

All donations to the College are recognized quickly and accurately. A tax receipt is sent out within 48 hours of receiving your gift. Acknowledgment letters are then sent from staff in our Annual Fund, development, stewardship, or president's office, depending on the type of gift and level of giving.

Endowed Fund Reporting

Many donors have created named funds such as professorships, scholarships, internships, fellowships, and faculty development funds. The Stewardship Office generates reports on many of these funds on an annual basis, illustrating how the donor's gift has been used to support students, faculty, and College programs. To receive a report on a particular fund, please contact the Stewardship Office at 800-492-2275.

Donor Recognition

Carleton recognizes the generosity of its donors in many ways, including the Carleton Founders Court, the William Carleton Medal, the Joseph Lee Heywood Society, the Donald J. Cowling Cup, and in donor publications, including Elements, Carleton's annual report.
