Transportation
TRANSPORTATION
Getting visitors to and from campus may be arranged in a variety of ways. Budgetary considerations, availability of drivers and vehicles will determine the method used. Following is a brief description of some of your travel options. You should review Carleton’s Travel Policy which includes information on car rental discount arrangements, suggested meal rates, non-reimburseable expenses, etc. You can find this policy on the Business Office Web site here.
Air travel arrangements 1-800-533-2054 / 645-4458
Northfield VIP Travel handles many travel arrangements for Carleton. You may choose to have the guest call Northfield/VIP Travel and make his/her own arrangements. To do this, contact the agency and tell them the name of the person who will call and the account number to which the tickets should be charged. Notify the agency of any restrictions or special arrangements for the trip. Provide the guest with the toll free number to contact the agency and finalize the reservations. You are not required to use the local travel service (and there may be a service fee), so if you are comfortable using online ticketing services, feel free to do so.
Most travelers belong to a frequent flyer program that allows travelers to accumulate points on their business and personal travel. Carleton can also earn frequent flyer points on THE SAME business related travel. Click here for more information.
College cars (for airport pick-up or other needs)
College vehicles may be reserved from Campus Services (x4443). Reservations should be made as early as possible to ensure vehicle availability. College drivers may be available to make trips. Contact Campus Services (x4443) for a list of qualified students or to reserve a car. Faculty and staff must be pre-qualified. See their Web site for more information.
