Alumni - 2002 Update
Evidence of the alumni partnership continues to be encouraging.Consider the following:
- Alumni participation in the Alumni Annual Fund reached a record 54% in 2001-02.Improved participation from young alumni made the difference.(The ’90s decade reached 56% and the recently graduated Class of ’01 reached 52%.)
- Reunions regularly attract 25% of alumni in reunion classes compared to a pre-1995 record of 19.9%.
- The Class of ’52 set a record for a 50th Reunion gift with commitments totaling $28 million.
- In 2001-02, 3,715 alumni attended 169 regional club events and an additional 1,369 attended Celebration of Stewardship events in 12 cities.
Current steps to engage alumni include:
- Adding a third alumni volunteer training weekend so now there are weekend workshops for reunion classes, for the annual fund, and for a combination of other initiatives including admissions, clubs, and the Multicultural Alumni Network.
- Providing more resources over the Web.
- Installing software that will provide Web support for volunteers.
- Designing new continuing education opportunities (e.g., Web and travel programs) for alumni.
