Review decision-making processes and improve communication.

  • Facilities Needs & Planning Committee (1999) recommended new communication procedures and practices to Council
  • Annual facilities forums for campus and neighbors, Winter 1999 and ongoing
  • Quarterly "Construction and Planning Updates" in Currently @ Carleton, Summer 1999 and ongoing
  • Annual construction report to College Council, Fall 2000 and ongoing
  • Instituted Web-based project descriptions
  • Periodic retreats of TWM & Faculty Council initiated 1998-99

Develop initiatives to enhance our sense of common purpose.

  • Committee on Convocation and Common Conversation (CCCC) 1999-00 issued report in Spring 2000.Recommendation that convocation
    be refocused on more common issues.
  • ECC proposal on common time approved by faculty and College Council, Spring 2000.Common time on Tuesdays and Thursdays initiated in fall 2001.
