This prize was established in 2006 by friends and students of Jerry R. Mohrig, Professor of Chemistry from 1967 to 2003, in honor of his many contributions to Carleton. The award recognizes an outstanding senior chemistry major who has excelled in the study of chemistry and in undergraduate scientific research. The award recognizes two hallmarks of excellence, achievement in formal academic coursework and in a significant research experience.
