The Winfield A. Foreman '37 Endowed Scholarship for Academic Excellence in Economics
This scholarship was created in 2005 by Winfield Foreman's wife, Alice, in honor of her husband's 90th birthday. Winfield A. Foreman graduated summa cum laude in 1937 with a degree in economics from Carleton. After graduation, Foreman was involved in a number of business enterprises including Foreman & Clark, a clothing company founded by his father, and as a vice president at John Wanamaker, a department store in Philadelphia. Foreman also served in the Navy during WWII and ended his service as a Lieutenant Senior Grade. The Winfield A. Foreman Endowed Scholarship for Academic Excellence in Economics is given to students majoring in economics with a track record of academic excellence.
