Carleton College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track appointment in Classics beginning September 1, 2010 at the rank of assistant professor. Ph.D. or its imminent completion is required. We are looking for someone to teach courses in Greek and Roman history, as well as Latin and Greek at all levels. Excellence in undergraduate teaching is essential. Candidates should provide evidence of commitment to teaching and scholarly potential.
Letters of application should address relevant educational and teaching experience, including a statement of teaching philosophy and interests. Please also arrange to send us a c.v., a graduate transcript, a short sample of scholarly work (no more than thirty pages), and three letters of recommendation, at least two of which address your teaching.
