Dean Nagel oversees the faculty and academic programs of the College. She is responsible for faculty recruitment, review and promotion, as well as review of academic departments and programs.  Dean Nagel also oversees the Gould Library and Information Technology Services (ITS).  The Dean is co-chair of the Education and Curriculum Committee, and chairs the Budget, Faculty Personnel, Faculty Curricular Planning and Faculty Grants Committees.  She is the chief academic officer of the College, and is a member of College Council.

Associate Dean Pattanayak oversees the offices of Off-Campus Studies and the Registrar.  His responsibilities include academic integrity cases, language exemptions, and student academic concerns.  As a standing member of the College's Education and Curriculum Committee (ECC) and Academic Standing Committee (ACS), he is deeply involved in academic policy, and in students' academic progress.  In addition, Dean Pattanayak is responsible for the College's non-tenure-track faculty hiring.

Associate Dean Jaramillo oversees the Animal Care Facility, Art Gallery and Collections, Writing Program, Language Center, Summer Academic Programs, Science Education Resource Center (SERC), Cowling Arboretum, and the Perlman Center for Learning and Teaching (LTC).  He is responsible for academic budgets, classroom improvements, and faculty office assignments, and sits on several committees including the Budget Committee, Capital Finance and Planning Committee (CF&PC), Technology Planning and Priorities Committee (TP&PC), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and the Institutional Review Board for Research on Human Subjects.

Director of Faculty Development Louis Newman is responsible for developing and overseeing the mentoring program for new faculty, including New Faculty Orientation.  He has primary responsibility for the College's academic advising program.  In addition, he is the liaison between the Dean of the College office and many of the curricular initiatives and other academic programs, such as CCCE, the Humanities Center, QuIRK and Viz.

Director of Curricular and Research Support Andrea Nixon is responsible for assessing and conducting educational research relating to curricular and research support and coordinating Carleton's Coordinated Support Model - a campus-wide effort to continuously refine the ways in which support is provided given the dynamic educational goals of the institution.  She coordinates assessment activities in Dean of the College office including institutional-level learning goals and provides advice and support to departments and programs of study in their assessment efforts.  She works with curricular initiatives and academic programs in identifying resources and coordinating efforts to provide curricular and research support.
