Academic Regulations and Procedures

Directed Reading

Reading that is assigned during the summer or winter vacation in conjunction with courses offered during the following term is classified as "directed reading." Such courses are noted in the registration information. A maximum of four S/Cr/NC credits per project may be earned from directed reading. There is no charge for directed reading.

Directed reading should be completed and evaluated as soon as possible after the beginning of the following term. Directed reading may be dropped by the drop/add deadline for the following term without a drop (DRP) notation on the academic record. Students must remain enrolled in the associated course in order to earn credit for Directed Reading.
