Bicycles

Security Services encourages everyone to lock their personal bicycles. Bicycle thefts account for the largest percentage of all personal thefts on campus. Most of the bicycles reported stolen were not locked at the time of the theft. Please lock your bicycle with a high quality lock/chain of case hardened steel.

  • Accessibility: Please leave your bicycles outside of the residence halls/houses and academic buildings. Be sure to leave the ramps for wheelchair access and stairways to all campus buildings open.
  • Security Services offers a bicycle registration program. This service is offered at no cost and is voluntary. You may register your bicycle by completing a Bicycle Data Card available at the Security Services office in upper Sayles Hill.
    • If your bicycle is stolen, report the theft to Security Services, x4444, and to the Northfield Police Department immediately.
    • High quality bicycle locks are available for purchase at the Security Services office.
  • Yellow Bike Club: FAQ - You don't own a bike, but need to get across campus quick? Feel free to use a bike made available on campus by the Yellow Bike Club.
  • Storage: Place your bike in storage if you will be off campus for a term. Make arrangements for storage if you do not plan to take your bike home at the end of each academic year.
