Chaplain's Office

Website: http://webapps.acs.carleton.edu/campus/chaplain/

The role of the Carleton Chaplaincy is to help deepen the spiritual and ethical life of the campus. Students, faculty, and staff are given opportunities to explore the integral relationship between faith and learning, connecting the work of the mind with the heart and soul. The Office of the Chaplain serves people of all faiths as well as those exploring spirituality in their lives.

The Office of the Chaplain hosts weekly worship services and special religious holiday celebrations representing a variety of faiths. Discussions, meditation and prayer groups, social events, service projects, lectures, and interfaith dialogue are also sponsored by the Office of the Chaplain. A complete Chapel schedule of events is published each term. The Chaplains serve as a resource for student religious groups of all faiths on campus. The Office of the Chaplain helps to facilitate student participation in local congregations and provides an annual listing of local church and religious services.

The Office of the Chaplain is involved in numerous ethical issues as they affect the campus. This includes helping to develop college plans and programs on a variety of identity and diversity issues.

The Chaplains are available for confidential counseling and support to individuals regarding concerns about spiritual growth, values, personal crisis, grief, or depression. They welcome the opportunity to be of support to individuals whose concerns may arise from issues of ethnicity, religious faith, sexual orientation, social class, gender, race or family history.
