Effective February 1, 2009, Carleton College is implementing a trial program that will allow staff to request a voluntary reduction in the number of hours worked for a period of time. All regular exempt and non-exempt, non-union employees are eligible to apply for the program.

Although the program is the same for the all staff, the implementation details may vary slightly among departments. You can also find the required forms on the Human Resources website.
We hope that this program will be beneficial to both the College and staff. It will allow staff more flexibility in the number of hours, weeks, or months worked during the trial period; and approved participation may provide a monetary savings for the College. It is important to note that this program is not intended to be used for long-term changes in a position's budgeted FTE (hours).
