ACE Event - Weaving a Sustainable Food Web: Connecting Colleges and Community

Time: 5:30 pm

Duration: 2 hours, 30 minutes

Location: Severance Great Hall

Contact: Adrienne Falcon, x5748

This ACE event will bring together local food activists, educators, health providers and other concerned citizens with college faculty, students and staff to learn from the work we have already been doing through a grant which Carleton and St. Olaf received last year around food and nutrition education as well as to learn how to approach the project more broadly.

Holly Lasagna, the Associate Director of the Community-Based Learning Program at Bates College will give a presentation on her three year campus and community collaboration around building a sustainable local food system in Lewiston Maine, a city with a large Somali population. We will then break into work groups to talk about next steps in the Northfield/Rice County area. If you are interested in attending and/or helping, please RSVP to afalcon@carleton.edu
