Annual Steam Plant Shutdown The next shutdown is scheduled August 8-15, 2009.
2009 Summer Projects Projects include roof work on a few of our older buildings—Leighton Hall, Willis Hall, and the Chapel.
The 1910 building at the Arts Union (former middle school) will be re-roofed beginning August 10. The entire building will have scaffolding placed around it. They will tear off of the existing roof and a dumpster will be placed on the south east corner of the site. A crane will visit the site for a few days early in the project to place materials on top of the scaffolding. Gutters are being replaced as part of this project as well. Work is scheduled to be complete prior to Defeat of Jesse James Days. We are also scheduling a limited amount of masonry repairs that we believe are becoming critical to prevent additional decay to the building. Most of this work is located at the northwest corner of the site associated with the 1934 Auditorium entrance.
New windows will be installed in Myers Hall, Goodsell Observatory, and Old Music Hall. If you have any questions or concerns about any of these projects, please contact the Facilities Office at x4167.
