Northfield News Praises City-Neighborhood Compromise

In a May 6 editorial titled "New Dorm Issues Handled Well by All," the Northfield News praised the compromise between Carleton and a neighborhood group that led to the city's approval of a conditional use permit for the new residence hall project. The agreement allows the College to build fewer parking spaces than city ordinances would otherwise require, which in turn saves several mature trees and additional green space at the edge of campus.
