All drivers must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license. All drivers must be pre-qualified and appear on the list of authorized college drivers before being allowed to drive the fleet vehicles.

To pre-qualify as a driver:

Faculty and Staff

1. Complete a Motor Vehicle Report Release Waiver available in the Business Office, Leighton 109.
2. Submit waiver to the Business Office.
3. Review the fleet vehicle procedures and fleet vehicle policy.
4. Honor Carleton's shared fleet vehicle courtesies.

Students

1. Complete a Student Driver Application form available in Campus Services, Sayles-Hill 5.
2. Attach a certified copy of your motor vehicle record obtained from your home state to your application and submit to Campus Services.
3. Attend defensive driver training. Defensive driver training sessions are held on campus at various times throughout the year.  Upcoming classes are scheduled for:

   Monday 3/1/10 4:30 pm Sayles 251,

4. Read the Fleet Vehicle Policies/Procedures manual.
5. Wait for notice of approval as an Authorized Student Driver.
6. Honor Carleton's shared fleet vehicle courtesies.
