Six Simple Courtesies for Fleet Vehicles

January 7, 2009
By Julia H. Burmesch

Carleton's fleet vehicles are available for official college business by pre-authorized drivers.  The program operates like a car sharing program and success hinges upon the mutual respect and cooperation of all drivers and passengers.

On any given day these vehicles experience use by a variety of users including students, faculty, staff and guests of the College.  Drivers and passengers are expected to follow simple courtesies that will result in fleet vehicles that are always prepared for travel.

  1. Fill the tank for the next driver.
  2. Clean up after yourself.
  3. Store snow brush under the front seat.
  4. Complete trip details in Mileage Log Record Book in the glove compartment.
  5. Return keys, fleet charge card and gas receipts promptly.
  6. Notify Fleet Vehicle Services immediately of any vehicle problems so we can correct them for the next driver.

Fleet Vehicle Services is responsible for the long-term maintenance of the fleet vehicles and also schedules vehicles on a rotating cleaning schedule of approximately every three weeks. Drivers and passengers should contact 507-222-4443 to report concerns requiring immediate attention.
