Celebrate peace through a public reading from letters between U.S. and Iraqi children during the Iraq War. Dear Friend, the book orchestrated by a group of Carleton students, gathers together letters initiated by The Children's Cultural Connection, a Northfield Organization. Aimed at humanizing war, the letter exchange promotes understanding and gives children on both sides of the war active roles in preventing future conflicts. The event, complementing War Work: Artists Engage Iraq and Other Wars, an exhibition at the Carleton College Art Gallery, will feature Dina Fesler from the Children's Cultural Connection, Missy Klapperich, a Cannon Falls Public School teacher, selected students from Cannon Falls, and Carleton students.
