In 1983, the Minnesota Legislature passed the Employee Right-to-Know (ERTK) Act,requiring employers to provide training and inform employees of the dangers associated with potential exposure to harmful substances they may come in contact with in the workplace. Offered in alternating sessions, the session will also include safety training on blood borne pathogens and asbestos.

This training is mandatory for all new employees that are routinely exposed to chemicals including disinfectants, art supplies, laboratory chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cleaning agents, interior paints, and industrial adhesives used in areas such as clinics, art studios, housekeeping and facilities.
