WORKPLACE TECHNOLOGY TRAINING
Lunch with TED and Lynda
Every Monday beginning February 6th: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm (CMC 011)
TED talks are all about "ideas worth spreading." At TED, they "believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world." The annual TED conferences invite the most inspired thinkers and challenge them to give the talk of their lives (in 5-15 minutes). You could think of them as concentrated Convocations.
Lynda.com produces software training tutorials and documentaries of creative individuals. They "believe that education is power, knowledge creates opportunity, that technology should be accessible to everyone, and that comprehensive, straightforward training can make a world of difference."
Many people find these talks and tutorials to be a valuable way of expanding awareness and knowledge into diverse and divergent areas, including those affecting our work at the College. Come discover how and why. Every Monday, starting February 6th, Doug Foxgrover will host an informal session showcasing TED talks, software training tutorials and other pursuits of lifelong learning. There will be time each week for viewing and discussion. Feel free to bring your lunch.
All sessions will be held in CMC 011 (in the basement), and will start about noon. No registration necessary.
