New Employee Orientation
Human Resources has coordinated a new employee orientation program that was originally developed by a college task force a few years ago. Much of the work the task force completed is being implemented into this program, which is being supported by Administrative Council.
For supervisors of staff it is important to engage new staff as soon as possible into their jobs while allowing them time to learn the basics. Having in place an orientation program to acclimate new staff to Carleton will assist us in achieving the goal of attracting and retaining the highest quality staff.
Beginning immediately any supervisor of newly hired staff will receive a supervisor packet of information from Human Resources. This packet of information contains some useful information and checklists to help acclimate your new staff member to Carleton and to ensure that important details are not overlooked. Once these forms are completed with a newly hired staff member a copy should be forwarded to Human Resources for placement in the employee's personnel file.
To compliment this process, Human Resources will be facilitating a half day new employee orientation presentation to be held four times per year. Each newly hired staff member will receive an invitation to attend the orientation presentation when it is being offered.
