Alsa Bruno

Major?
CAMS/Theater
Where are you from?
Houston, Texas (NOT Houston, MN)
What are a few of your extracurriculars at Carleton?
Sketch comedy (Lenny Dee), CAASHA, play writing, 24-Hour Show, Acapella (Intertwining Melodies), ETB (Experimental Theater Board), & The Carleton Players (Carleton's acting guild)
Song you play (or movie you watch/ or book you read/ etc.) over-and-over? Why?
"Wake Up" by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes. That song is a "call to arms" so to speak. It's all about how we, as individuals, need to make the decision to make the world the place it should be, that we need to think and act on what we believe to be right as opposed to simply sit back and complain. That said, what song I play depends on the occasion. If I'm feelin slick, "Stayin Alive" is my schtick.
Any special talents (walking the tight-rope, juggling fire, etc.)?
I can eat a baby kitten whole... I don't know if you'd really call that a talent so much as a thing.
What's the one thing you're glad you brought for your first term? Why?
I'm glad I brought my sense of humor. I thought of leaving it under my bed at home, feeling "Nobody wants to hear this up there! It'll leave me too vulnerable and I don't need that. I'll just laugh on holidays and, maybe, over skype." Bad idea. My humor is who I am, it's what I do, and, quite honestly, life is always gonna be hard. We always run the risk of laughing at a joke no one else thinks is funny. Why not enjoy the laugh?
