What are a few of your extracurricular activities at Carleton?

I'm involved in Carleton Advocates Against Sexual Harassment and Assault (CAASHA). My freshmen year, I was a mentee in the Queer Peers program, and acted with the Vagina Monologues. Also, I was an alternate for the slam poetry team.

Song you play (or movie you watch/ or book you read/ etc.) over-and-over? Why?

The Vagina Monologues, of course! But in all seriousness, it forced me to be aware that life is messy; life is uncomfortable. Seeing the play when I was 16 jump started my commitment to activism. After all, not knowing of a crime is ignorance. Ignoring a crime is a crime itself.

Any special talents (walking the tight-rope, juggling fire, etc.)?

I write poetry and short stories on a semi-regular basis. I like to play guitar, although I'm better at poetry. I'm also a great cook :)

What's the one thing you're glad you brought for your first term? Why?

Good books! They're a great conversation starter.
