Nick Baeck

I'm Nick Baeck, and I am an international student from South Korea. I am a rising sophomore and I intend to major in economics. During my first year at Carleton, I kept myself less stressed about school work by following the English Premier League.

1. What excites you about being at Carleton?

The thing that most excites me about Carleton is its friendly academic atmosphere. Students here at Carleton do not limit their selection of courses, but pursue any subjects that genuinely interest them. Also, I can say for sure that professors at Carleton are always open to help us when needed.

2. What is something you wish you had been better prepared for before arriving to Carleton?

Before arriving at Carleton, I was afraid of the amount of work that I would be assigned throughout the school year. Consequently, I limited my time during the first term just trying to focus on school work. At the end my first term here at Carleton, however, I realized that I actually had time to explore other fields than academics. I wish I managed my time well so that I could play sports or music to make my time at college more enjoyable and relaxing.
