The work of award-winning playwright Lauren Yee (Ching Chong Chinaman) returns to a Twin Cities stage with her latest, The Tiger Among Us. A world premiere commission, Tiger makes for a modern-day Midwestern folktale about a Hmong-American family and the tenuous bonds that tie us together. Siblings Lia and Pao, who live with their family rural Minnesota, must attempt to blend traditional Hmong family values with modern life while also trying to pursue their dreams and maintain their responsibilities.
