Carleton experienced a significant and unexpected interruption of network service this afternoon (13 June 2012), starting at about 5:00 pm. Many systems, including those which require authentication (username and password) were affected by this disruption.
No files or email were lost as a result of this service interruption.
The majority of systems affected by tonight's disruption are back online.
We are working together with the vendor of these systems to isolate and repair the cause of the original malfunction, and we are implementing strategies to protect the systems from further issues of this kind.
Nearly all of the affected systems are now online and operating as expected. We are hoping to bring all systems affected by this event back up by 10:00 pm or sooner.
We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced as a result of this service interruption. If you have any problems or concerns related to this incident, please contact any of us below.
