We are excited to announce a pilot program of lecture capture systems which can record classroom talks, student presentations and guest speakers, all with the touch of a button. In addition to their use in classrooms, lecture capture systems also facilitate “flipping” by enabling faculty to easily create short videos from their home, lab or office on their own computers. This trial is sponsored by the Future Learning Technologies Group.
Our pilot program will feature Panopto, a premiere lecture capture and video library system. Four classrooms across campus will be outfitted with cameras, microphones and the Panopto software for this pilot, to be conducted during Fall and Winter terms of the 2014-15 academic year. The classrooms are currently being selected in collaboration with the classroom committee, with a focus on identifying one room each in LDC, Olin, Leighton and Weitz.
