Migration Process from GroupWise to Zimbra
The process of moving everyone from GroupWise to Zimbra is a slightly complicated one, though we have done our best to make it as painless as possible for our clients. The uninstallation of GroupWise and the installation of Outlook 2007 will be almost entirely automated through ZenWorks, but it will take some time. During these processes you will still be able to use your computer, and you will be asked to access your email and calendar via the Zimbra Web client until Outlook is fully installed and configured on your computer.
To help you remain productive during this transitionary period, ITS will be hosting a wealth of training opportunities for you to learn Zimbra Web and Outlook 2007. We will also be distributing Quick Reference cards for Outlook 2007 that you can keep at your desk, as well has having ITS staff on site in your department the first day or so you are using the software.
If you have questions at any time about the migration process, please feel free to contact Austin Robinson-Coolidge at arobinso@carleton.edu or x5635.
Zimbra Training Opportunities
We will be making every effort to offer ample training opportunities in both the Zimbra web client (equivalent to GroupWise WebAcces) and Outlook 2007. Each person will receive an Outlook 2007 Quick Reference Guide, Quick Reference information for Zimbra web, and have several opportunities for training classes. All training classes will become available in the beginning of February and be listed on the ITS Events Calendar.
If you are interested in scheduling a specialized training class for your department or have any questions about the training schedule, please contact Carly Born, cborn@carleton.edu, x7010.
