Making podcasts at Carleton (simplified instructions)
We now have a new, easy-to-use solution for you to capture audio, video and on-screen materials (e.g., PowerPoint presentations) and put them up on the web for your students. All you need is a Mac computer and a microphone or video camera. The computers and software are already located in many classrooms across campus, and the microphones and video cameras are readily available at PEPS in Laird 14.

Viewing podcasts at Carleton:
Type "https://podcast.carleton.edu" into your browser's address bar and hit the "return" key.
This will take you to the Welcome page for Carleton Podcasts, as shown below.
This is the Welcome page.
On this Welcome page, click on the "Out Sick" link from the list on the right side of the page, highlighted in the image below.
This will take you to the Out Sick homepage, as shown below.
Note: If you do not see the "Out Sick" link in the list, then click on the word "groups" in the upper right-hand corner of the Welcome page. Look for "Out Sick" on the page that appears. If you still don't see it, navigate to it by using the arrow keys on the bottom of that page.
This is the Out Sick homepage.
Notice the magnifying glass icon in the upper right-hand side of this page. You can use this to search for the podcast you want, as shown in the images below.
To search for a particular podcast:
Click on the magnifying glass icon.
This will open up a search window, as shown below.
Type in the first few letters of the course code for the class you want.
A list of podcasts for that department shows up in the search area, as shown above.
Click on the course number and date of the class you want to see, as shown below.
This will take you to the web page for that podcast, as shown below.
To play the podcast:
Click anywhere in the picture to begin playing the podcast.
