Wireless connection

In addition to physical Ethernet ports in each of the rooms, Carleton continues to increase it's wireless coverage across campus. As of the end of the 2008-09 academic year, we have wireless coverage throughout all the academic buildings, the common spaces of each residence hall and a number of other common spaces around campus. These spaces include the Sayles Hill Campus Center, the Gould library and most public labs. Wireless coverage is an ongoing project at Carleton so you should expect to see greater coverage throughout the course of the next year. For a map of the wireless coverage on campus, please refer to the Student Computing Wireless article.

Connecting to the wireless network is fairly straightforward. Simply search for the "Carleton" name/SSID and connect as you would to any other network. As with the physical network, you will need to configure your machine in order to connect properly (see Network Configuration for details). You will also need to register your machine separately on the wireless network (see Network Registration for details).
