The Carleton College Library has been a member of the Federal Depository Library Program for U.S. government publications since 1930. Over 400,000 printed items are shelved in compact shelving on Level 1 (with government-issued maps on Level 2), arranged by U.S. Superintendent of Documents Classification System. Several hundred microform publications are in microform cabinets on Level 3, and more than 60,000 publications are available online. These documents are available for use by the general public.
