Information Literacy Initiatives at the Gould Library

The librarians of Carleton College define information literacy as the ability to apply critical thinking in order to create knowledge from information.

The information literate student can recognize an information need, define an intellectual problem, locate, evaluate, and synthesize information, and cite the sources of information.
