ACM Information Literacy Symposium Series
Sponsored by Carleton College, Macalester College, and St. Olaf College, the ACM Information Literacy Symposium series intends to generate discussion about information literacy among faculty, students, and staff. The symposium is funded by a Mellon Grant to the Associated Colleges of the Midwest to support and promote collaboration within and among ACM colleges in integrating information literacy into the liberal arts curriculum. Three symposia are planned, one hosted by each campus.
The first symposium, Academic Integrity: Technological Change and Intellectual Property, was held at Macalester, Friday, April 5th, 2002. Topics to be covered include: the impact of technology on scholarly research, copyright and plagiarism issues, changes in scholarly publishing, and opportunities for collaboration in teaching about ethical issues related to information.
