  • Anthropological Literature, (19th Century-current)
    Anthropological Literature, from the Tozzer Library at Harvard, is the major index to international periodical articles and essays in the discipline.
  • AnthroSource, (1960-current)
    Search the full-text editions of publications from the American Anthropological Association. Easy to search and links directly to JSTOR, but does not have the broad coverage of Anthropological Literature (above)
  • Sociological Abstracts, (1963-current)
    Major index to international periodical articles, book chapters, and dissertations in the fields of sociology and anthropology.
  • International bibliography of Sociology, (1955-current)

    Most recent edition in reference, older issues in general stacks.
    Comprehensive listing of research; classified arrangement with subject index; international in coverage; covers about 425 journals.

    Index of articles, books, government documents, conference papers, dissertations, and films on African women.
  • Contemporary Women's Issues, (1992-current)
    Contemporary Women's Issues provides access to global information from non-profit groups, government and international agencies.

    Arranged by broad subject; slightly more detailed subject index; some abstracts are included; popular and scholarly periodicals indexed.
  • Women's Studies International, (1971-current)
    Covers the multi-disciplinary literature in women's studies and feminist research.

  • Humanities International Complete
    Full-text of journals, books and other sources from around the world in all aspects of the humanities
  • Poject Muse
    Full-text of nearly 250 journals, primarily in interdisciplinary areas. A great place to find journal articles relating to women's and gender issues.
  • ProQuest Research Library, (1971-current)
    Broad coverage of scholarly journals, newspapers, trade magazines and other publications across most academic fields. Many anthropology journals are included, but it may be necessary to limit your search by including 'anthropology' in one of the search boxes and changing the drop-down to 'Subject.'
  • SSCI - Social Science Citation Index. (via Web of Science)
    The Institute for Scientific Information publishes the Social Sciences Citation Index, which provides access to current bibliographic information and cited references, covering more than 1,700 of the world's leading social sciences journals in a broad range of disciplines. It also covers individually selected, relevant items from more than 3,400 of the world's leading natural and physical science journals. A powerful capability is cited reference searching, a process whereby one tracks the number of times a specific work has been cited or referenced in other works.
  • Social Sciences Index, (1980-current)
    Indexes articles of at least one column in length from English-language social sciences periodicals.
Newspapers
  • Alternative Press Index (1991-current)
    An index to alternative, radical and left periodicals, newspapers and magazines
  • Ethnic NewsWatch, (1991-current)
    Full text articles and index from about 100 ethnic newspapers published in the U.S; many in Spanish.
  • LexisNexis Academic,
    Provides full text access to international news and other information. Dates of coverage vary by title.
  • ProQuest Newsstand Complete, (1995-current)
    Index and full-text of newspaper articles including editorials, editorial cartoons, obituaries, and letters to the editor from well-known people. Be sure to search this index if you want to find the Wall Street Journal, which is not in Lexis Nexis.
