  • Environment: Issues & Resources (US Information Agency) This site is an extensive directory to a large number of sources pertaining to environmental issues such as biodiversity, ozone depletion, environmental law, sustainable development and numerous other related topics. The annotated links are organized by subject and are quite thorough.
  • Committee for the National Institute for the Environment (NIE) Produced by a non-profit organization, this site includes Congressional Research Service Reports, various databases concerning population, ecology & biodiversity, and a section about environmental laws andtreaties - locally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) The home page of the EPA provides information on laws, regulations, programs, publications, projects, and various databases and software applications. The Publications section provides access to over 6,000 technical and public information publications.
  • Endangered Species Home Page (US Fish & Wildlife Service) Alert! not available due to a court order!! Includes the downloadable text of the Endangered Species Act, lists and counts of the endangered species, and other information available for downloading. Also includes some state information.
  • UN Environment Programme (UNEP) While some of the site is currently under construction, a number of full-text publications produced by the organization are available. Additionally, a number of databases are provided, allowing access to numerous documents.

Development

  • Virtual Library on International Development A lengthy directory of development links arranged by organization, subject, and country/geographic region. Also includes numerous reports and publications from a variety of sources.
  • WWW Virtual Library -- International Development Co-operation A meta-index of development resources from international organizations pertaining to issues such as aid, trade, economy, humanity, research, international relations, health, women's development, nutrition, education, ecology, demography, human rights, development policy, and more.
  • PRAXIS: Resources for Social & Economic Development Developed by a professor at the University of Pennsylvania, this site offers a variety of archival resources on international and comparative social development. Includes information on agencies, policies, topics & issues, funding, and other relevant links.
  • UN Development Programme (UNDP) This site provides some full-text Occastional Papers from the Human Development Report Office, as well as downloadable data via the Development Cooperation Analysis System and the OECD.
  • Development Banks Part of the Yahoo subject directory, this site provides a listing of development banks around the world. Includes links to the Asian Development Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank, and other regional banks.
