Current News
- ProQuest Newsstand Complete (some full text, some indexing, from 1995 for most papers)
Search for articles in hundreds of major national and regional newspapers.
- Lexis Nexis
For the most search options, click the "News" tab at the top of the search page. There are several groups of papers you can search at once. The default is all U.S. newspapers. Click the drop down menu next to "Select Sources" to see other options.
NOTE: The default time frame is the most recent three months. Change this to fit the time frame you need using the drop down.
- Ethnic Newswatch (Full text, from 1991)
Articles from the ethnic, minority and native press; Can limit by language or ethnic group.
- Browsing Collection
- The library maintains a small collection of recent newspapers in the Rookery, including the New York Times, Minneapolis Star Tribune, St. Paul Pioneer Press, Wall Street Journal, as well as other titles.
Historical News
- ProQuest Historical Newspapers
Search full text content for articles in these four important newspapers, including ads, editorials, cartoons. Exploit the advanced search options if you're finding a large number of results not related to your topic.
- Historical Newspapers
Contains indexing (1785-1980) and full text (1785-1870) for the London Times.
- Early American Newspapers (1690-1876, full text)
Search or browse dozens of early American newspaper titles.
International News
- Lexis Nexis Academic
There are a number of options for searching the international press.
- From the news tab, you can select any of the following source grouping: Major World Papers, Non-U.S. newspapers and wires, Non-English Language News
- From sources tab: Select "browse sources" -> Select country from "Filter by country" down down menu OR Select "find sources" -> search by keyword or browse by title.
- All Africa.com (1997-present)
This site adds over 1000 stories daily in English and French, offering a total of over one million articles in a searchable archive from 125 African news organizations plus sources world-wide such as Comtex News Network, Radio France Internationale, and the BBC. - Latin American Newsstand (from 2005)
Full-text Latin-American newspapers and newswires in Spanish and Portuguese.
- Center for Research Libraries (CRL)
CRL has an extensive collection of English and non-English language newspapers from around the world.
