    A multidisciplinary database of current scholarly journals in areas such as women's studies and other interdisciplinary subject areas.
  • World Wide Political Science Abstracts
    The key index to journals in political science.
  • America: History and Life, 1964 to current.
    An abstracting service covering North America's literature for history and culture; especially strong for the U.S.
  • Academic Search Premier
    This very large multidisciplinary database allows you to search thousands of journals at once. To combat the problem of too many hits, try limiting to journals you know.

  • Alternative Press Index, online; 1991 to current; print: 1970 - 1991.
    API indexes alternative and radical publications usually not indexed by other sources; no abstracts; probably requires using interlibrary loan to obtain the articles.
  • International Index to Black Periodicals, 1902 to current, full-text 1998-current.
    IIBP provides indexing only to current and retrospective citations and abstracts from over 150 scholarly and popular journals, newspapers and newsletters from the U.S., Africa and the Caribbean.

    The Institute for Scientific Information publishes the Social Sciences Citation Index, which provides access to current bibliographic information and cited references, covering more than 1,700 of the world's leading social sciences journals in a broad range of disciplines. It also covers individually selected, relevant items from more than 3,400 of the world's leading natural and physical science journals. A powerful capability is cited reference searching, a process whereby one tracks the number of times a specific work has been cited or referenced in other works.
