Promoting & Receptions for Athenaeum Events
The Library will promote Athenæum events by posting events on the library and campus calendars and in Currently@Carleton. Posters advertising events are created either by the department sponsoring the event or publications. Departments can work with College Relations to publicize events beyond the Carleton community.

Receptions held in conjunction with Athenæum Events:
Selection of food items and overall reception arrangement must be consistent with library collection conservation concerns and preserve an ambience appropriate to an academic library. The library makes suggestions concerning the menu selection and arrangements for receptions, and approves final plans. The library then makes all necessary arrangements with Catering for Athenæum events. Receptions associated with library events are catered by the college catering service and are paid for by the co-sponsoring department. If the co-sponsoring department wishes to serve alcoholic beverages, it is the responsibility of the department to purchase and serve alcoholic beverages in a manner consistent with college policies.
College catering service and the library will manage event set-up and clean-up to ensure that events are confined to the specified area and that meticulous clean-up is accomplished immediately following an event.
