From Data to Distribution: Technology and the Census
Since the time of the first census, sharing the results of the count has been as central a function as collecting the data. As the country has grown, so has the size and complexity of the count and the distribution of the results. These expanding needs have pushed the Bureau to adopt, and sometimes develop, new technologies to handle the volume of data. The materials in this case document some of the changes in how the count is conducted and in how the results are disseminated to government agencies, businesses, non-profits, researchers, and students.
