Check out two new Carleton Digital Collections – Dime Novels and Cowling Arboretum.

The Dime Novels collection includes digital images of brightly-colored illustrated covers from 22 dime novels held in the Carleton College Library Special Collections.  These novels are popular fictional accounts based on turn-of-the-century exploits of the notorious rogue, Jesse James and the James-Younger Gang.

If you have questions about finding images in this collection or seeing the original dime novels, please contact Kristi Wermager (kwermage@carleton.edu, x4273

A new & growing collection, started by Arboretum Director, Nancy Braker ‘81, the Cowling Arboretum collection showcases documents written by students, faculty & staff that reflect the use, management and development of the Arb over the years.  Includes Nature Trail Bulletins published by students in the 1950s.
