At the Honors Convocation on May 30, 2008, Gould Library was presented with the 2008 Excellence in Academic Libraries Award from ACRL.

An almanac is an annual compilation of facts and statistics, both current and retrospective. Some important almanacs in the Gould Library collection include The Almanac of American Politics, The National Geographic Almanac of Geography, and The Almanac of American Education.

Microforms are materials (reports, documents, books, journals, newspapers, etc.) imprinted on a medium at a greatly reduced size. Microforms include microfilm, strips of photographic film on reels; microfiche, small flat sheets of photographic film (usually 4" x 6"); and microprint or microcard, small, flat, opaque sheets of archival cardstock.

Gould Library has thousands of publications in microforms, including many government documents.

Eighteenth Century Collections Online is a digital collection of every significant English-language and foreign-language title printed in Great Britain during the eighteenth century, as well as thousands of important works from the Americas.

Primary sources are fundamental, authoritative documents or publications (like the Declaration of Independence or Salem Witch Trial transcripts), original material such as letters and manuscripts, literary works, scientific research reports, contemporaneous news accounts and interviews. Primary sources are the materials that are used to build history.

Published annually since 1972, the Congressional Quarterly (CQ) Historic Documents Series contains 35 volumes of primary sources. Each volume includes approximately one hundred documents covering the most significant events of a single year. Documents included in the volumes range from presidential speeches, international agreements, and Supreme Court decisions to U.S. governmental reports, scientific findings, and cultural discussions.

Oxford Art Online is a comprehensive art reference that covers all the visual arts. It includes the Grove Dictionary of Art as well as The Oxford Companion to Western Art, Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, and The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms. It also includes thousands of images linked to appropriate entries in the reference resources.
