Join us this Thursday, May 17 for Drop Everything and Read Carleton! Noon to 1 on the Bald Spot. Rain location is the Weitz Cafe.
Come for 5 minutes, stay for the whole time… Bring something non-required to read — a book, a magazine, etc.
Need a book? Stop in the library to pick up something fun to read.
The Carleton College Library, along with the St. Olaf College Libraries, the Northfield Public Library and the Friends of the Northfield Public Library will sponsor a free public event in Northfield about The Saint John’s Bible at 7:30 pm on Monday, May 14 in the Weitz Center Cinema.

There’s an issue with eReserves and it’s compatibility (or lack thereof) with Chrome. If you are having problems accessing PDFs from eReserves and you are using Chrome, switch to any other browser.

Working on projects in the Weitz Center and have a question for a reference librarian? We're there for drop-in consultations three times a week.
Reference and Instruction Librarians will be holding office-less office hours at the IdeaLab at the following times during spring term. Drop-ins welcome!
- Mondays, 3-5 p.m.
- Tuesdays, 1-3 p.m.
- Fridays, 9-11 a.m.

Dean of the College Bev Nagel and Carleton College are pleased to name Brad Schaffner to the position of College Librarian. Brad is currently head of the Slavic Division at Widener Library, Harvard University. Prior to working at Harvard, Brad served at the University of Kansas Libraries as Head of the Library Slavic Department, and Head of International Programs, and Coordinator of Collection Development.

The library has just subscribed to a collection of 12,000 online videos called Academic Video Online. It contains films and documentaries of all kinds across all academic subjects, from political campaign commercials to anthropological field recordings, from full opera performances to historical newsreels, from psychological counseling session demonstrations to filmed plays, and everything else in between. You can access it directly at http://vasc.alexanderstreet.com.ezproxy.carleton.edu/ or just look for Academic Video Online among the databases listings on the library's website.

After consultation with faculty in the Psychology department and with the Reference and Instruction librarians, Gould Library has switched from the ProQuest platform for the databases PsycINFO and PsycARTICLES to the EBSCO platform
